Windows Movie Maker is very easy to use, light and simple video editing application integrated with Microsoft Windows. With this application every not so experienced Windows user can capture, edit and make DVD videos from his home video camera or video recorder and also can save the video back to the video tape.
But in case when you already have captured many video clips and you want to combine this video to one merged video you have to arrange the video clips contiguously and next to save the entire series in one video file.
With this tutorial I will show you how to merge two or more movie clips with Windows Movie Maker to one video file.
First Import the video clips into Collections like shown on the picture below:
Next, using simple drag and drop make some ordering of your video clips on timeline or storyboard (depending which style time presenting you prefer to use) like shown on the picture below:
Note: You can apply video transitions between video clips to get smooth acceptance from the spectators.
When you ready with arranging all your video clips in the time go to File / Save Movie File…. Next specify where to save the movie and the desired format of the movie. Here you can specify the video type profile (depending where you want to play the video, in web browser by internet, on dvd home cinema, on cell phone display, etc). This choice is important for setting the video resolution, compression level, frames per seconds, etc.
Merging the video clips is no so fast process, because the video have to be re-encoded, resized, transitions to applied, etc. Time need for complete the operation depending mainly from the performance of your computer.
