How to locate the executable associated with a given process in Windows 7

Using the Task Manager in Windows you can easily view all the processes that are running along with a description (optional). But lots of times this is not enough to understand everything about the given process. Well the Windows 7 Task Manager gives you the ability to locate the executable associated with the process.

First open the Task Manager. You can use the good old Ctrl + Alt + Del combination and select Start Task Manager from the menu or the brand new hotkey combination Ctrl + Shift + Esc which will instantly open the Task Manager:

Now select a process and right-click on it:

Press Open File Location and the folder containing the executable linked to the process will open:
