In this tutorial I will show you how to set all administrative options for Buffalo WHR-G54S Wireless Router. When logon to administration page go to: Admin Config >> Name/Password.
Here you can set AirStation Name up tp 32 symbols and root password.
Next, in Date/NTP you can set router date and time, NTP server for time synchronization and local GMT time zone.
In Syslog Transfer section you can enable / disable function for transferring Buffalo WHR-G54S Wireless router to some Log Server, to set this Syslog Server and also events to be logged and transferred.
Save / Restore Settings section have to be used for saving and restoring router images at some stages. Have in mind that, when you have using some old image configuration for restoring you have to enter your root password when this image was created.
At Initialize / Restart menu you can make some kind soft and hard reset of your router. When you press Restart button this just reboot your router, while pressing the Initialize button will restart the router with all of the its default factory settings.
Have in mind the Initialize function means that you have to reconfigure all your settings for WAN, LAN, Wireless, Security, etc.!
And the last menu – Firmware Update is for updateing the router with last firmware from the manufacturer. You can check Buffalo Technology web page for latest updates for your router.
Have in mind that you have to use only official and original firmware updates, offered directly and only from manufacturer of the router. Otherwise you risky to damage your router and to drop out the warranty!
