Message windows are where the conversations happens. Trillian uses split windows, where the top half is the ongoing conversation and the bottom half is where you type outgoing message.
The buttons in the top right of a message window (from left to right)hide the message window, minimize the message window (either to the taskbar or within a container), maximize the message window (either on the desktop or within a container) and close the message window.
