Disable skype notifications for specific chat
With the release of Skype 4 series one very cool new feature has appeared. The functionality to disable notifications per single conversation. I have been so happy with this new feature it allow a better control of the way the program behaves to fit your personal needs. I find it very annoying and distracting to have a blinking box in your task bar when you are working on something else. It is especially irritating when you have a a chat with multiple Skype users and in most of the cases somebody is writing something and the windows keeps poping up.
The new feature has great advantage when you use the old fashioned way of keeping all chats in separate windows. Now this is know as Compact View. I do not know why but I never got used to the new Default View.
So we are in Compact view and we have opened the chat which we do not want to bother us at the moment. At the top navigation bar you got to Conversation -> Notifications There are three type of options available in the new window that will pop up.
1. Notify me - this feature will enable the taskbar blinking of the chat if new messages has arrived or it will force the window to open if it has been closed. 2. Do not notify me - nothing will happen and that is exactly what we want. 3. Notify me if only these words are mentioned - honestly i have never used that option but I guess you could experiment with it and post a comment here.
