Making reflect images in Photoshop
All we have seen these crisp images in web pages, poster, magazines, etc. They looks like a live and when you see it you think that they in front of your monitor and upon a paper. In this tutorial we will teach you how you can get this images with most simple way. For this purpose we will use Adobe Photoshop, but you can use your favorite software for doing this.
First step is to set new document in Adobe Photoshop. You can do this by selecting New... from File menu. Of course the size of document depends on picture format, which you want to make. In our case this is 400 x 120 px at 72 dpi.
Now lets write some text on document with Text tool (from tools palette). For our example we use ONLINEHOWTO.net. Set text font, style, color and other parameters, which you want to set.
Next we need a copy of this image. With this copy we will make mirrored reflection of the original image.
You have to know that next operations need to rasterize this duplicated layer. When one layer is still in text format this layer is limited for some transformation and manipulating. You can do this by right clicking on Layers Palette and from menu have to choose Rasterize Layer.
Next you have to move the duplicated layer down from original. One useful thing is pressing the Shift key while you move the layer. This will give you smooth movement on one line in each eight directions around the layer (by 45 degrees).
Next select Flip Vertical from Edit/Transform menu.
Next select the bottom part of mirrored layer with Rectangular Marquee Tool from Tools Palette. Now we have to set the feather radius for this selection. You can do this from Select menu, Feather... This value must be set depending on layer size. But the best result you will get after several experiments.
When you set feather radius go to Edit menu, and next choose Clear. The same effect you can get by pressing Del button from keyboard. Do this "clear" until result will starts to like you.
And now from this video you can watch entire tutorial step by step from the beginning to the ready result
