We will continue review of PSPad features from previous tutorials.

With this tutorial I will show you how to set up FTP or Secure FTP connection to your websites with PSPad.

To do this open PSPad and go to FTP tab a left side in the program and click on Connect FTP button like shown on the picture bellow.

New FTP window will appear. Here is the listing (if you have already set some) of your FTP connections. Also here are the buttons for managing this list. You can connect to some connection, make new connections, make a duplicate to an connection, delete connection, edit existing connections and import external connections from Total Commander FTP connections list (wcx_ftp.ini).

Here are the all settings needed for your connection. Like you see are available many rich and helpful options which you can set.

For Connection Name enter the name of your website, webserver or just something for more easy remember this connection. Next enter your FTP Server address, User Name and password. Entering Remote Directory is not mandatory, but this will automate you when login to immediately go to this directory.

Also you can set Connection Timeout, to not keep connection to the server always live.

If your server supports Secure FTP protocol (SSL/TLS) you can turn on this option. Settings for Passive Mode and Binary transfermode are available.
Please note that if you want to use SFTP protocol you need PSPad SSL pack which have to be preinstalled with the program, but if not you can download in addition.

Useful feature is to set Keep Connection by Sending:. This will keep your connection to the server live for fast respond when saving and loading files.

When ready click on OK button to save this connection.

Now click on Connect button like shown on the picture:

And now you can work directly with the files on your FTP Server.
