Editing images with IrfanView
IrfanView is small and very powerful software program for viewing, editing, converting, printing, scaning images.
In this tutorial we will show you how to use build-in filters to make different effects on some sample picture.
All of the filters and editing capabilities of IrfanView you can use from Image menu.
From Image / Information you can get short info for the image that is loaded in IrfanView
With Image / Rotate Left and Image / Rotate Right menus you can rotate your images by 90°
With Image / Vertical Flip and Image / Horizontal Flip menus you can mirror flip your images.
From Image / Resize/Resample image you can set the size and dpi of current image.
From Image / Increase Color Depth and Decrease Color Depth you can set the number of colors in loaded image.
From Image / Convert to Grayscale you can convert your image to black and white image with gray levels all between black and white.
From Image / Negative you can convert your image to negative copy such as photo-film.
With Image / Enhance Colors you can tune the intensity of Red, Green and Blue chanel of the image.
Image / Sharpen will give you more sharpen image
You can use Image Effects from Image / Effects / Effects Browser. Here you can specify effects parameters and take preview of the "effected" image.
