To install Joomla, you have to support PHP and MySQL on your web server. To be sure for this first check your web server for this services.

You have three variants for Web Hosting. First, to use free web hosting (in most cases this will have some limitation). Second is to use payed web hosting. And the last variant is to host the Joomla in your own computer configured to use web server software.

If you select the last variant you can download XAMPP which is all-in-one packet with Apache, PHP, MySQL, phpMyAdmin, etc.

Next you have to download installation files for Joomla

After you successfully configured your web server and already have Joomla installation files now you can start with the installation of Joomla.

Now you have to create database for Joomla. If you prefer to use phpMyAdmin for doing this (like me) open phpMyAdmin control panel and create some database and remember the name which you gave to database.

Next we have to place installation files of Joomla in document-rot folder of your web server. Next you have to open document-root folder with your browser. (http://loclahost, http://www.domain.com). In next window, in right filed you have to see all text in green. If you found some red text this mean that there is an error with configuration of your web-server. Lets say that all text in this filed are green. On next window you can read the license agreement with rules wich you have to accept to continue installation.

Now you have to specify the settings for name of your host (localhost), username and password for database access. Next you have to set the Web site title and administration account.

After you set other settings like email addresses, etc. we have to remove install folder from document-root folder. This is a secure hole which can be used by hackers to attack your web site.

Now you can be proud with your new Joomla web site.

It is not a must. Rename the old index file and you are all set
