Open CorelDRAW take the graph paper tool from the toolbar.Than put a number for the rows and the columns...

How to make 3d Chess table
Push CTRL and draw a perfect square fill it with white and black and hold it slected. Go to Arrange-->Ungroup All. Then push Shift and click on one of the little squares with pick tool afterthat fill with black color.
